Jeremiah 29: 11-13 For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.

Arm Yourself for Battle
Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. (Ephesians 6:11-13 NLT)
It's been a particularly rough few days with the news of Sandy Hook and tragedy close to home. I feel like I have been crying or fighting back tears non-stop. We live in a world of sin with a devil ready to bounce on our weaknesses and prey on our insecurities.
How interesting The Lord lead me to these verses. In such dark times, we cannot ignore the existence of the devil. He is real and he is out to destroy us. That is why God instructs us to put on our armor. Prepare yourself for battle everyday. Get in the Word and get on your knees. Darkness shall not prevail and will not win. Don't let the enemy steal your joy. Do not let the devil make you cower in fear. You have the Lord's army on your side.
For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. (2 Timothy 1:7 NLT)
In the name of Jesus, I urge you! Fight back!
